Ein wütender Balljunge hat in der Fußball-Europa-League für Aufsehen gesorgt. In der Nachspielzeit des Viertelfinal-Hinspiels zwischen Ajax Amsterdam und AS Rom (1:2) feuerte der Jugendliche einen Ball auf Gäste-Verteidiger Riccardo Calafiori und traf den Italiener am Hals.
Calafiori war vor einem Einwurf mit dem vom Jungen angebotenen Spielball nicht einverstanden und legte das Spielgerät wieder ab. Als das 18 Jahre junge Defensivtalent gemütlich in Richtung eines weiter entfernten Leders trabte, schlug der Balljunge zu. Wie auf Fernsehbildern zu sehen ist, wollte Calafioiri erst theatralisch zu Boden gehen, dann entschied er sich jedoch, den Balljungen verbal zu attackieren.
Für sein spektakuläres Zeitspiel wurde der italienische Junioren-Nationalspieler von Schiedsrichter Sergej Karasew verwarnt. Ob der Balljunge eine Strafe fürchten muss, ist nicht bekannt.

Europa League: Ball boy attacks Rome's Calafiori
An angry ball boy caused a stir in the European Football League. In injury time of the quarter-final first leg between Ajax Amsterdam and AS Roma (1:2), the youngster fired a ball at visiting defender Riccardo Calafiori, hitting the Italian in the neck.
Calafiori disagreed with the cue ball offered by the youngster before a throw-in and put the cue ball back down. As the 18-year-old defensive talent trotted comfortably towards a leather further away, the ball boy struck. As can be seen on television pictures, Calafioiri first wanted to go down theatrically, but then decided to verbally attack the ball boy.
For his spectacular time play, the Italian junior international was cautioned by referee Sergei Karasev. It is not known whether the ball boy will have to fear a penalty.
